I don't know why there's mention of violating French laws... I kind of ignored that, like how your iTunes makes you promise not to use it to manufacture biological weapons (what Apple doesn't know about my experiments...). As to what constitutes a violation of French law... [insert joke about the habits of the French here].
I can only hope that certain Canadian guild leaders will find the random buttons in French reassuring...
